When I took this photo in Morrisons Victoria, I thought ‘this was definitely not what Philip K. Dick had in mind when he asked if androids dream of electric sheep’.
Having said that, if you ask artificial intelligence or my daughter to imagine electric sheep, this photograph is not wrong.
So it gave me a theme for this show - can something real to me seem surreal to you?
I tell my daughter dreams are the result of our brains digesting reality, like how the stomach handles food.
The brain is kneading what we see, hear and touch, and as the dough ferments, random weird things happen.
Dreams cannot exist without reality.
